There are details of the selection anf training of recruits for the British Antarctic Survey and how these people adapted to a completely alien way of lfe away from "civilization".
About the Author
The author worked in various capacities for the British Antarctic Survey for several years during thr 1960s and 1970s. He visited and worked at a number of localities and bases from South georgia to Marguerite Bat at the base of the Antarctic Peninsula. After his time in the Antarctic he was elected to membersdhip of the Antarctic Club
