The book is a compilation of the author's experiences. It describes cultural issues including historic reflections such as slavery and plantation legacy. It also highlights reflections of the author's upbringing while making references to more romantic aspirations, experiences in exotic locations and the joys of friendship and intimacy.
About the Author
The author is a specialist in one area of the health care fields. She was born and raised on the island of Montserrat in the West Indies where she completed her formal education and started her career as a health care professional. Her experiences include exotic holidays, hurricanes and erupting volcanoes. She eventually migrated to the United Kingdon in 1997 during the volcanic eruptions on the island which resulted in mass evacuations. She later continued on to university where she obtained her degrees. She has had a secret passion for writing poetry fron her teen years. Her passion further embraces issues related to slavery and it's many legacies. Her writing reflects her strong views on a number of unresolved issues resulting in her writing a poem called apologetic. Sharmen enjoys writing and puts alot of imagination into her reflections. Her aim is to give every reader the experience of their life through her poetry. The poetry is so real one can almost live it. As she would say satisfaction gauranteed!! Sharmen has also made contributions to health articles in professional journals.
