About the Book

Fayettenam Plays and London Works is a collection of six three-act plays and one one-act play with varied settings in London, England; Gallup, New Mexico; Lebanon, Missouri; Cherokee, North Carolina; Greensboro, North Carolina, and the author's place of residence in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The oldest play dates back to the author's college days of yore, and the most recent play contains wet ink as it was hurriedly keyed to meet a publishing deadline. Expect lots of laughs and rising action leading to climaxes of dramatic proportions!


About the Author

Macky Levaughn Myers is a native of Lebanon, Missouri and is a fan of other writers with writing stays in Lebanon including Harold Bell Wright, Lanford Wilson, and former teacher, Ellen Gray Massey. He attended Lebanon High School later attending Missouri State University earning both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Education. As a student at Missouri State, he enjoyed watching tent theater performances featuring John Goodman, Kathleen Turner, and Tess Harper.

 Myers has taught high school in Gallup, New Mexico and college at the University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch where he met Tony Hillerman and worked with former Navajo Code Talker, Carl Gorman, the father of Native-American artist, R. C. Gorman. While working as a volunteer at the Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial, he met Kevin Costner collecting his very first autograph. Later, he watched filming of Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers near where he lived in Gallup, New Mexico at the "Home of the Stars"--the El Rancho Hotel.

 He moved to North Carolina teaching high school taking part in a teacher exchange program in London at the Magna Carta School in Staines, England and The John Roan School in Greenwich, England. While in England, he frequented London's theatre district on the West End and attended premieres in Leicester Square photographing stars and collecting autographs from Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Slater, The Rock, Billy Boyd, and Imelda Staunton.Other bragging rights include attending all three theatre performances of Kevin Spacey's directoral debut at the "Old Vic" where one performance featured Ian McKellen in Aladdin.

Myers is currently teaching English at the Taiyuan Institute of Technology in Taiyuan, China. He is the father of two children--Arienne and Kaleh. Occasionally, he has directed local works including Ibsen's The Miracle Worker and Thornton Wilder's Our Town.
