The true story of the hardships and adventures of a boy joining the navy at 15 in the 1950’s. Training at HMS Ganges and serving on ships and submarines operating around the UK, Far East, Middle East, Australia, West Indies and the Arctic. The traumatic life continues as a civilian in the various contracts as a self employed engineer and life itself.
About the Author
Rick Harris was born in 1937 on the outskirts of Birmingham, the second youngest of six children. On leaving school at the age of 15 joined the Royal Navy. At the age of 19 joined the Submarine Service. Shortly after leaving the service he became self employed, which began another series of adventures. Rick now retired, lives with his wife Carol in rural Herefordshire.
