As the Heart Family move into their new house from another part of the land they are excited to explore their new area. As they go on their adventures and carry out their favourite activities together they feel very happy as they say “a happy healthy heart makes for a happy active family”, but something isn’t quite right in the land of Heart, what could this be?
As they explore the town they soon find out that all is not well, because not all hearts are happy ones. Should the Heart Family help them by letting them join in with their best activities, or can they help themselves?

About the Book
The book in it self is a fun and colourful way to help and promote the well being of children and other members of the family, by interacting with each other and carrying out activities together to create less of an obese climate that we are currently living in, and with the use of shapes, i feel that children could be drawn into the book. I deliberately created the characters based on the heart shape , as we all know that having a bad inactive heart can lead to health worries. From this I further developed them to create a family unit with their own individual characteristics. The book is split into short chapters from doing everything from going to the town and taking holidays,that is easy to read and understand and not complicated. By using the heart shape to create characters , I could design them, in my own style and in my own illustrative way.
About the Author
Hi I am 37 years old and on a design course at uni, and it is my first venture into creating a children's book that could inspire or possibly educate children. As it is the first book i have designed, it is influenced from a number of sources such as sponge bob square pants and the Mister men. My daughter gave me a direction in which to take the book, as the characters of the book are an extension of the simple pictures that she created, and as she is a child of 7, it reaches out to her age audience. The biggest draw to the book is in the illustrations, as they are bold, colourful and eye catching and stand out to children to stimulate their imagination and as an author and illustrator this is exactly what i want to achieve to create maybe a series of books based on other shapes in different scenarios.
