About the Book

Portia, the Porcupine is a normal, perky little porcupette who lives in a great northern forest with her family and friends. Normal, that is, in all but one respect. Portia has a terrible fear of needles! Read how Portia finally overcomes this ghastly fear. Sing her song. Learn about her species. Discover how she meets the challenges of visiting her doctor, and how she becomes convinced of the importance of getting her vaccinations, in spite of her great fear. Find out how she matures into a real role model for all the other porcupettes in Porcupine Forest.
