About the Book

Sofia Ineza and her younger sister Rose are devastated when their parents and young brother got killed during the genocide in Rwanda. And when they return home from the exile, it seems nothing will ever be the same again.

Meanwhile, Sofia wants to go back to school, but her grandfather Alexander wants her to get married instead. Sofia fears that Rose will be left alone in the village with their alcoholic grandfather but she follows her dreams. When she meets Kevin, handsome as ever, it seems that fate was far from finished with her.

Sofia’s worst fears are confirmed when she finds out she is pregnant after the death of her sister in childbirth at fifteen years of age. Then Sofia is evicted from her aunt’s house, Patricia who is treating her like a housemaid and she is obliged to move in Juliette’s house, Kevin’s mother. Will Juliette ever accept Sofia as her future daughter in law?

After having a stillborn and a miscarriage, Sofia seems trapped into abusive life with Kevin and when her neighbours, a married couple, Chris and Rebecca offers to take her in, it seems an offer too tempting to refuse. They are about to change her life forever when Chris helped her to go to America to continue her education. But her dreams are shattered again when she finds out she’s carrying a set of triplet…..who is the father?
