About the Book
Legends of Everest is a compilation of two legends of the place called
The first: A broken body, a broken mind, a broken spirit. A soldier, a fool, and a hero. These are starting and stopping points in three lives which are touched by a common need—the need to survive on the mountain.
The second: The tragic loss of a loved one and the hope (revealed through legend) of seeing that person again, is fueled by a need for revenge. Only love can overcome death.
About the Author
Dean Allen (full name Dean Allen Boring) is a first time author. He wrote a lot in college which was a long time ago (41 years ago). He is 64 years old, and retired. He is an avid cat lover (as reflected in the first story, The Cat that Climbed Mount Everest) and, also, an avid mystery lover (as reflected in the second story of the two, The Everest Stone). He has always been a fan of adventure (stories, movies, etc.). He has been a motorcycle rider since it was legal for him to ride (maybe a little before). He feels that in today’s current socio-economic climate with depression a major issue in everyone’s lives, that a little inspiration is what is needed. This is the prime reason he wrote these two stories—to inspire people to greater things and, hopefully, forget, at least for a little while, their problems.
