As Jason twisted the brass door knob something inside me said stop! Don’t do it! My stomach tightened and my heart began to race again. I was about to stop him but it was too late. Jason’s face evaporated into pure terror. He drastically tried to close the door. But the creature pushed hard against it. He yanked himself though and tossed Jace to the floor. He sat on top of him and pinned him down; so that he couldn’t move. The beast slowly raised his head. “Hello, sweet-art!” He smirked as his green eyes glistened eerily.
I froze in the arms of the banister.
“Run, Britt!” Jace yelled.
