About the Author
From Box Camera to Digital Camera, from Amateur to Professional, Vi Goulet is an award winning photographer. Her earliest pictures were taken with a Kodak Brownie Box Camera in the 50’s. A Surprise Grab Bag bought at a “ 5 & Dime Store” contained a little 35 mm camera and combined with her Honda Dream Motorcycle, she burned up the miles perfecting her photo skills. Marriage, children, a divorce, and a son’s death sharpened her perceptions of life. Through the tragedies she continued to explore the photography world. After studying with the New York Institute of Photography, Vi began her professional career specializing in Group Portraits. An inheritance from her Father, who instilled in Vi the love for travel and nature, enabled Vi to purchase a Pentax P-Z1 which was later stolen. The replacement camera was a Pentax P-Z10 purchased from a pawnshop. Christmas ’08 produced a Canon Power Shot 12mp Digital Camera and opened up another avenue of photography for her to explore. Vi’s photos have traveled worldwide as two of her photos were chosen by her city for its’ official postcards. The Calgary Access Awareness Committee chose her as the official photographer for National Access Awareness Week when they were the Canada wide hosts. Vi has traveled North America and Hawaii capturing nature through the eye of the camera. Traveling with Vi can be very entertaining as a 2 hour drive can take 8 hours while she tromps through the fields in search of that elusive photo. Dangling from her neck is a myriad of camera equipment, her lifetime motto drifting in the air....”Just one more”. With the publishing of her works in a series of Nature Photography books Vi’s dream of sharing nature’s beauty with others has been realized.
