Slowly I crept along, following the tracks. I had no idea of who or what I might find. As I began to hear voices in the distance, I trembled. Peering through the brush and snow, I saw some people and horses. The horses were drinking water from a creek. Would they hurt me, I wondered? Did I dare go to them? I was so very tired of being cold, hungry, and alone. It was getting colder and the snow was heavier. They were my last chance. If they didn’t help me, I’d not make it much longer.

About the Book
Nick Finds A Home is the story of a tiny, lost puppy who finds his way to a home, friends and family, when he meets up with a Tennessee Walking Horse named Little Man and some trail riders. No one knows how the puppy came to be alone far into the woods. His story of finding a home is a heartwarming reminder that the greatest gifts are free.
About the Author
Lisa Mackay is a certified riding instructor with the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association. She loves teaching children and adults about horses and other animals. She and her husband share their lives with their three children, various horses, goats, chickens, dogs and cats and many animal loving friends. Riding horses and having retrievers has always been part of their family. They live in western North Carolina.
