‘Did you kill your brother?’ his wife had asked him. The boss had instantly made an innocent face as he shook his head in the negative. However, his innocent expression did not cut ice with his wife; she knew him too well to believe he did not have a hand in the death of his brother – the only man she had fallen in love with; the man she had genuinely shared her heart and her body with; the man who was the father of her beloved son – her only child. ‘I’ll make sure you’re exposed, you sludge,’ his wife had said before the boss could respond to her accusation. ‘I’ll tell the whole world who you really are. I’ll tell them you’re nothing but a bloody murderer.’ ‘Now wait a minute, woman–’ began the boss. ‘No, you wait a minute,’ interrupted his wife vehemently. ‘You wait a frigging minute. I’ll not stand here and allow you to lie to me. I know what you’ve been up to right from the start. Oh yes I do. I just put up with you all these years so I could be close to your brother.’ The boss’ eyes had turned spooky but his wife did not mind; she went on, yelling at the top of her voice. ‘I have loved your brother ever since I gave him his first kiss.’ The boss’ spooky expression suddenly changed into a dangerous one, but his wife was past caring. ‘Oh yes I did,’ she said, clearly enjoying the emotional pain she was causing her husband. ‘You want to know something else?’ she went on. ‘I disvirgined your brother! Oh yes I did. He lost his virginity to me.’ The boss had slapped her then. He slapped her so hard she went flying across the room and into the adjoining bathroom. The boss had known that his wife was cheating on him with his brother and his plan was to get rid of his brother and make the affair a secret to the world; but his wife’s next words changed his plans. ‘I will blow it out to the whole world that your brother was a better lover and I will proclaim it to all and sundry that our baby really belonged to your brother.’ And the boss had known that his wife had to go. The scandal she was threatening him with would be too much for him to face.
He tied his screaming wife up in the bathroom and gagged her with a towel until midnight...

About the Book

About the Author
Kofoworola Laiyemo was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1974. Encouraged by her father Mr Samson 'Lolu Laiyemo, a renowned legal practitioner who has his law chambers located in the heart of Lagos, Kofoworola started writing at the age of thirteen. Although her works were then unpublished, she wrote several poems, articles and stories for her family and friends to read.
Kofoworola attended the University of Lagos in Nigeria, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany. For several years, she worked as an Insurance Executive at the prestigious Leadway Assurance Co. Ltd. in Nigeria, where she later became head of a unit. Even though she had her academic orientation in the field of science and she later went on to carve a niche for herself in the insurance industry, her lifelong ambition had always been to become a published writer.
Kofoworola currently resides in the United Kingdom, where she manages her time between writing and her job as a Sterile Service Technician with an NHS hospital.
Knightly Obsession is Kofoworola's first published novel and she is currently working on her second novel.
