About the Author

Mike Stefanick is a retired Colonel and a retired Superintendent of Schools. Mike has a Bachelors Degree in Math-Education, a Masters Degree in Counseling, and a Superintendents Letter of Eligibility. He is also a graduate of the US Armys Command and General Staff College. The author has served in many management and leadership positions with education, the military and the government.  Among these, he has served as a teacher, coach, assistant high school principal, director of elementary education, and mobil therapist for disadvantaged youth. Many of his positions required him to be primarily responsible for discipline. He has had a vast amount of experiences and has worked with adults and children at all age levels and from all walks of life. He feels he has a lot to offer anyone interested in discipline and in helping children become well adjusted, well rounded productive members of society. 

Mike is also a recipient of the Konrad Lindenberg Memorial Award for his efforts in promoting parent involvement in schools and a recipient of the Leadership for Learning Award by the American Association of School Administrators for his effective style of leadership. Mike is a father, son, and grandfather. He has four children and four grandchildren. Three of his children have a Masters Degree and the 4th a Bachelors Degree. Mike is very proud of all his children. All his children are in well respected professions and are doing very well.
