As the boys put on their life vests and buckled up in the pedal boat, Nicholas had the feeling this was going to be some boat ride. Counselor Steven explained to them the rules of the race. They were paired up with another boat and when the counselor rang the bell, they had to pedal as fast as they could to the center of the lake, and go around the dock platform and back to the finish line. “Oh boy!” Butch exclaimed, “This is gonna be great”! So the bell rang, and off they went, pedaling as fast as they can! Of course Butch pedaled faster than Nicholas, but together they had a good lead. “Hurry" Butch shouted at Nicholas. “Get your legs pumping faster! We’re almost at the center of the lake!” Nicholas really had a hard time managing his side of the boat, but he was doing his best to keep up with Butch. As they rounded the center dock platform, Nicholas looked behind him to check on the other boat. “Hey Butch, we're in the lead, were doing great!" Nicholas said. So together they pedaled stronger and harder and headed right for the finish line, where they tagged Counselor Steven, who then shouted, “The winners! Butch and Nicholas in Blue Boat number two!”. Out of breath and panting, Nicholas and Butch high fived and low fived each other and jumped around as the other boat pulled up in second place. "Congratulations boys!" Counselor Steven said."Tonight you will receive your trophies after the barbecue and the Grand Finale Ghost Story Camp Out on the mountain. "Awesome!" Butch shouted, "Totally Awesome!" Nicholas was still somewhat in shock and trying to catch his breath…

About the Book
"Meticulous Nicholas…Goes to Camp" is a story about a 9 year old boy(Nicholas) who goes to sleep away camp for the very first time. He remains meticulous in his preparation for this camp journey, from color coding his shirts in his luggage, to neatly keeping his camp bungalow clean, that is, until he meets his sloppy soon to be roomate, Butch. Together, the boys participate in various camp activities in which the bold difference in their personalites continue to shock Meticulous Nicholas, from the way Butch eats at the Camp's "Grub Shack", to the way he plays his games in camp. However different they may be, together they form a friendship and learn how to fuse as one to become teamates, roomates, and most of all, friends. Meticulous Nicholas is a good positive role model for children of all ages,
and parent's will love him as well!
About the Author
G.M.Renna has been teaching children dance since 1993. She has performed on stage at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York and has also performed for the 1964-65 World's Fair at Flushing Meadow Park Queens. She has been a dance studio owner for over 15 years. Besides teaching children, she also teaches adults in Fitness and Yoga. Over the years she has taught well over 5,000 students and is very happy to bring her book, "Meticulous Nicholas…Goes to Camp" to life. She resides in Rockland County New York, with her family and 4 dogs!
