     It was almost midnight when Rose Monreal received the dreaded phone call informing her that her only child Steven was killed in a car accident.  For the next several years, Rose entered a period in her life that drove her to the edge of insanity. How does one cope with the loss of a child?

About the Author

Rose Monreal was born in the small town of Roy in northern New Mexico and grew up in her nearby family ranch.  As a child, Rose was exposed to New Mexican culture by stories, songs, and especially the New Mexican santero art tradition. As a first time writer, many of these influences are incorporated into the telling of this very personal true life experience that transformed the author's life in many ways. Rose and her husband Steve own a successful business in the home building industry. She and her family divide their time between Austin Texas and their ranch in West Texas. Besides writing, Rose also composes music, plays the guitar, and paints.
