About the Book

Sharon St. James story of love in the hot lane begins in the mid-nineteen eighties with a chance meeting in Harry Denton’s Skylight Room, a cocktail lounge on the twenty-first floor of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. A bar, no matter how upscale, being a place neither Clarice Ryan nor Martin Blake normally frequent; but that’s where their eyes meet across the proverbial crowded room.

Clarice is a beautiful, single, career woman focused on working her way up the corporate ladder. Marty, on the other hand, is a stage actor and man-about-town. He’s the very essence of the type of man who causes Clarice’s warning radar to rev into overdrive. But she soon discovers his abundant charm and strength of character are powerful aphrodisiacs.

Clarice wonders if she should take a chance despite her vow to never fall in love again. Can she trust Marty enough to let herself love him? Does Marty have what it takes to win her heart?

Both Clarice and Marty come to the relationship with mind-numbing histories. Hers involves her baby son having been abducted. His revolves around a drug-addled woman of great beauty.

Marty’s a force of nature. She’s an icy vixen. When dynamic characters like these two come together, there’re bound to be fireworks.

About the Author

Sharon St. James is a member of Romance Writers of America. She is an emerging writer of sizzling romance between worldly adults and the witty banter inherent in such relationships. After the tragic events of 9/11, however, her perception of reality did an abrupt about-face. She decided to get out of the fast lane and pursue her life-long dream of becoming an author. She resigned her job, sold her home and moved to the serenity of the mountains in northernmost California where she lives with her two lazy dogs.
