About the Book

Murder Is Only Skin Deep revolves around the sudden deaths of young women living in a small coastal town north of Boston.  Their lifestyles and deaths are so similar that authorities believe there is a common thread.

Secrets are exposed that family and friends knew nothing about.  Truths are bared about neighbors, professionals and local townspeople.  Is there a serial killer living in this town?  How are these women dying?

Janet is the aspiring detective who is warm, witty, and bright, and married to Brian, the medical pathologist of this coastal town.  He becomes her “Mr. Watson” as she materializes into Sherlock Holmes.

The scenario takes place in Swampscott, Massachusetts, where lights-out takes place at nine in the evening and sidewalks roll up, as well.  Murders did not happen in Swampscott…until now.

Phyllis Dinerman is the author of “The BocaYente’s Slice of Life.”  This is her first mystery novel, and this whodunit is peppered with humor and suspense.  It is a definitive page-turner, airplane companion, and beach book.
