Bodi sat down on the marble steps, still holding Jess in his arms. Matt, too, fell to his knees and held his sister’s hand. "There’s a woman up there, too,” Bodi called. Within minutes, Bodi heard the sounds of sirens and the paramedics took Jess’s limp body from his arms, laid her on a gurney, and wheeled her into an ambulance. More paramedics brought Lizzy down and loaded her into a second ambulance. The sirens were just fading in the distance when the senator’s car pulled into the driveway. "I’ll get you …” Matt screamed. “You’ll rot in hell for what you’ve done to my sister!” Matt lurched toward the senator, but Bodi grabbed him and held him back. "Who in the hell are you?” the senator asked. Then he turned to the commissioner. “What is the meaning of this? What are all these people doing here?” "You are under arrest,” Commissioner Davidson replied.

Millie Kelley grew up in the small community of Bear Grass, North Carolina, where everyone knows everyone. Her interest in writing began in Junior High School when she contributed to a creative writing book (poetry, short stories, etc.) that was distributed to other schools in the area. Millie resides in Knightdale, North Carolina, with her loving family. They are an inspiration and a pillar of support as Millie nurtures her creative spirit through her writing.
