About the Book
In the dangerous world of undercover operations, one wrong move can be the difference between life and death.
But in the quiet little town of Snowker, Ohio, the most serious crime that usually occurred was the occasional cat up a tree. This is where Deputy U. S. Marshal Bill Bales decided to retire after 25 years of federal service. And his timing to retire just so happened to coincided with his new job as the Chief of Police for the town of Snowker. This is where he and his family could now live the normal life he had promised his wife and daughter over the frequent relocations associated with being a member of the Marshals Service.
Until one day when he gets word that two federal agents who had been assigned an undercover investigation into the dealings of a weapons smuggler are murdered in a neighboring state. Being a former undercover operative himself, and after some prodding by a high ranking U.S. Government official, he agrees to return to the undercover theatre as a sanctioned undercover agent under U.S. Title 9, Section 1902 one last time.
Together with his newly formed support team, he uncovers a massive operation to import and resell more than $24 million in illegal weapons. During the course of the undercover investigation, federal witnesses are targeted for death and trusted federal agents are turned as paid informants to the leader of the crime organization. All of which puts the lives of those already undercover in mortal danger.
This results in deceit and intrigue that puts the will of an experienced undercover operative against the greed and cunning of a crime lord who will stop at nothing to guarantee success at any cost, even the deaths of those loyal to him.
About the Author
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, in February 1951, Marc Ronald Dickson grew up in suburban Prince Georges County, Maryland. Through these times, Marc benefited from the leadership of his military service, employment, family and friends. These factors played important roles in his life as a mentor, devoted husband, and father of three children.
Marc and his wife of 33 years, Karen, now make their home in Columbus, Ohio. And although their home is now an “empty nest” after their grown children have spread their wings, they still enjoy leisure activities, travel and an occasional visit by family.
Marc's law enforcement experience covers 35 years and includes periods of service as a federal agent, police officer and corporate security management.
“Section 1902 Sanctioned” is Marc’s first fictional writing centered around a small town and its police chief, who as a retired federal agent gets pulled into yet another case involving the dangers of undercover work, intrigue, deceit and murder.
While Marc actually experienced some of the attributes mentioned above in his 35 year law enforcement career, he is quick to note that "Section 1902 Sanctioned" is fictional. However, he has based some of his writings on actual law enforcement policies and procedures to help paint a genuine picture of what it takes to survive in the crime fighting world.
After publication Marc is hopeful to have “Section 1902 Sanctioned” transformed into a screenplay for possible movie production. A feature film producer along with Punchkin Entertainment
