He laughed. He didn’t know what else he could do. It was no joke. He was serious about going to Peru and marrying Deysi. The comment about learning his lesson, he figured, had something to do with his divorce, although what he was supposed to learn from the experience was a mystery to him. Perhaps the lesson was never get married, or more likely, to be more careful. How can one be cautious enough never to make a mistake?
