The Super Cyborg

Eight years. That's how long it had been, sense since Chris’s mother and father had died in an automobile accident. That’s how long it had been since, my sister and I had been pulled apart.

My sister was sent to stay at our aunt and uncles’ home in America. I was sent, to a temple high in the mountains of Okinawa, where I lived with an old friend of my mother’s side of the family. My mother was Japanese and; my father was American.

At this temple, I learned an the ancient martial art known as raion kibe —, (lions fang.) This art only being taught to only a few chosen once every generation.

So I felt privileged to be one of the few chosen. With that training my sensei, taught me the value of honor, and showed me the will to protect those precious in my his life.

The day that I had to return to the America was as painful a day as the day my parents died, because I had come to know sensei as if the old teacher were my own grandfather. But I also knew the importance of my return, for it was to finish my college years surrounded by my true family.

Even though I went to school in Okinawa, his sensei thought it was a good idea to finish college with my his aunt, uncle, and sister around me.

I didn’t argue with Sensei’s reasons, but I still felt that there was so much more that he could teach me.
