About the Book
This book is the story of an orphan boy who is befriended by good people who teach him good manners and justice. He becomes a lawman and proves himself many times as an efficient gunman, but finally wants to give it up and become a rancher. After saving his money for years, he leaves the law business to make his mark in the world as a rancher, but is sidetracked by the small town of Cold Tree, Texas and in order to gain more knowledge of the ranching business, takes a job with Jake Barton, who has two lovely daughters. His ability with a gun, his gentle nature, his generous spirit, and his love for a woman causes him to be the most unusual cowboy on the streets of Cold Tree.
