About the Book

The Adventures of Captain Heman Godfrey Kenney

And

Lady Catherine

Description

The call of the sea sets Heman Kenney, a young captain from hunger-starved Ireland, on a journey across the ocean to the new world.  Familiar events of the development of the new country of Canada unfold along side the blossoming love story between Captain Heman Kenney and his beloved Elizabeth.  But the deeper emotions come from Heman as he struggles with the dark choices he made in the past.  Will Elizabeth forgive Heman from the sins that haunt him?  Evading American Civil War ships, the wrath of Queen Victoria and disgruntled natives, join Heman and his crew of misfits as they travel the open seas upon the other  love of his life: the Lady Catherine.

About the Author

About The Author

Catherine Wilcoxson was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.   Having married Paul, a missionary from the United States, she left her home to work alongside her husband as he spread the Gospel.  Catherine has been able to be a helper, a teacher and a counselor to those in need all throughout the United States and Canada.
But the ocean calls to her – traveling back to the harbours of her childhood is not always possible, but she has been able to return through the characters in her book.
Much of what she knows of Heman Kenney and his family she learned from the stories she heard sitting near her grandmother’s rocking chair in Watt Section.
Catherine currently resides in Covington, Indiana where she and Paul continue to work with a small congregation.
