The phone in the kitchen rang and I asked Zoe if she would get it. Bo must have been in there because I heard his voice as he answered the phone. I figured it was was probably another late caller wanting to reserve a Christamas party at the restaurant. I had been bombarded the past week with reservations for parties and family gatherings for the holidays.
A couple of minutes later, Bo, came out of the kitchen looking horrified.
"What's wrong Bo? You look like you have just seen a ghost," I questioned him, a little nervous from the look he was giving me.
"Uh, Ben, sit down, big guy," Bo commanded me very sternly.
"What's up man? You are scaring me," I told him, refusing to sit down like he had said. My mind immediately flashed to my mom and dad, who were both in very bad health. "Is it Mom or
Dad?" I questioned him, wanting to know which it was.
"No Ben, there's been an accident, a wreck in town." he muttered. "It's, It's .." he muttered, unable to get out the
words that he was trying to find.
"Damn it Bo, come on. Who is it?

Mia Brown always thought that her life was simplistic, lacked love, and was never going to change. She grew up a shy child in a small Kentucky town. She took her love of reading and working with children and put them together by going into teaching. Her life was great except for two things; she wanted a husband to love her and a child of her own that she could raise
The widowed Ben Allegra was fine with being single. He never wanted to have to worry about another woman coming into his or his daughter's, Zoe, life and ripping their hearts. He had been hurt but was now ready to move on as a single father and the owner/chef of a highly popular restaurant in the town he had called home since moving to America from Italy as a child. Would his daughter's teacher prove to him that he could and would love again or would he close his heart off to her and everyone else that tried to enter his life.
About the Author
Jennifer Coulter Smith grew up in a small town in Kentucky loving to read. Her mother and father always encouraged her to work hard for what she wanted and never give up on her dreams. After marrying her high school sweetheart and having four wonderful children, Jennifer now lives only miles from where she grew up raising her family. She is also an elementary teacher and still loves to read. Wanting to write a book had been a dream of hers for years. She finally remembered her parents advise about not giving up on your dreams and pursued her dream to write a book. She hopes that her book will both entertain its readers and inspire others who might want to write for themselves.
