About the Author
Joe Stimac was born on January 20, 1931, and grew up in a small village nestled in farmlands of Western Pennsylvania. Growing up in Roseville, Joe was a man of work, often providing for his 13 brothers, sisters, and a mother who was widowed when Joe's father died. After leaving school in the eighth grade, Joe's life of labor began when he met Edward S. Dewey, a prominent business man and land owner in the area. Following their meeting, Joe devoted his entire life to working for Mr. Dewey and his estate. Although he was a loving family man, Joe made his mark on the Dewey Farm Hill, where he spent endless hours mowing the fields and watching the sunset. Now, Joe still works for the Dewey's, often spending time on the hill thinking about his life as The Man on the Hill.
