For every journey there is a beginning which starts (as you know) with a step. In the beginning, God took the first step when he created us to live in this world till he calls us back to him in glory. Then we shall be giving the account of our stewardship to him. It will interest you to know that God is not only interested in our entering the mansion prepared for us in his kingdom, he is also interested in the way we leave here for home. Details of this could be found in this book titled “Homeward Bound”. However, between the creation of man with the freedom to take the first breath on earth and the calling back, there is a journey that has to be made which is where “the path of life” seeks to address. It is this journey process that brings us to the realisation that we are in this world as “visitors” but any visitor has a time limit to spend with the host which in this case, is the earth before going back home. So our part in the path of life is to continue the journey along the direction which the “Beginning” has shown in order to have a successful ending. Truly, God the “Beginning and the End” has given us the road map to travel and this we can find in his word as recorded in the scriptures. This road map tells us what to do when we arrive at some junctions, sharp turns, dangerous turns, stops, congestions, mountains, hills, valleys, good or bad weather condition etc, in our journeys. This is why this book is a must for those who are desperately seeking for the way out of their difficult situations. This is a book of petition to God for his speedy divine intervention into your situation as David said in Psalm 70: 1 “Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord”. In order word this is a book to help you make your case to God in line with his words in Isaiah 41; 21. “Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob”. Producing your cause before God with strong reasons is the whole basis for your petition before God which is what this book “The Path of Life” is all about; indeed a book of petition before God. In reality, in the path of life you will meet with various situations, circumstances and personalities but don’t be dismayed, you should always remember that Christ in you is the hope of glory and he will glorify himself in your life. For instance, one of the personalities you will meet are the mockers whose job is not to contribute to your destiny but to mock you in your moment of discouragement and frustration when everything seem bleak and no way out. This is because mockers are very readily available. You can find these people in families, workplaces, churches, educational institutions, neighbourhoods etc.
There is a reference point for mockers in the road map which God has given us. The scripture tells us that God will make way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah: 43.19) To further look into what mockers do, the scripture led us into the story of Elkanah and his household; Prophet Elisha and the children. There are so many worrying situations in the world today that draws man's attention. For instance the world has become a play ground for wars, hunger, diseases, poverty, killings, injustices and other tragedies; putting man at the receiving end of these unfriendly experiences. As a result, it becomes man's desire to free himself from these situations in his journey through life.
