The Through the darkness of surreality – two lovers are revealed, aged like the leaves on the falls of the seasons. It is dusk, so you could barely see them whimsically walking out on stage – holding hands like children, skipping through a field where they stand at the edge of a lake, on a pier before they kneel. The Vintage Couple pull out their poetry books, both wrinkled and ruffled; face each other like the last pair of cards in a shuffle. They speak spontaneously `cause their thoughts were always simultaneously combustible as if they were Siamese twins connected at the Love muscles, and they speak in the harmonious Clarity Of A One Accord Couple: “WE MADE IT THROUGH THE STRUGGLE!” The Vintage Woman scuffles closer to her male double and utters, “We put together the poetic puzzle...” He slides his golden glasses to the edge of his nose like a rudder and rebuts, “We’ve had many lovers, but nobody loved you …” She stutters as if the breath of her ancestors were blowing through her shutters and says in a quilted tone that is peaceful and comforting… It’s as if the surface of her accent were bathed in a Southern Diaspora that welcomes you, then hugs you when she affirmatively states, “Like… I… loved… you…” Vintage Man giggles, and then says, “Ditto!” She takes measured steps towards the river, turns and faces her life-partner and continues, “Now, there’s no rhyme or riddle, metaphor with pop references and sizzle, that can express how I feel about you!” He looks at his boo and ensues, “When I read about you!” she turns her cheek as if she were emotionally blown away, looks down at the distressed wood beams beneath her feet, and states, “So, for the next few days at the pier of this lake, We’re going to reminisce like CL smooth.”He laughs and responds With, “My God, at the ledge of this stage, pull out our poetry books like fishing rodsbookended with hooks.” Vintage Woman says in her acknowledging way that has not left her to this day, “YES BABE,

About the Book
Spoken Love is the fictional, poetic interpretation of a painting. The painting captures soul mates professing love for the first time before tumultuous events in their relationship occur. The book details the story of Mr. and Mrs. Poem with grandeur and graphic detail. Narrated by vintage man and woman, Spoken Love is like turning pages as their memories cast like fishing rods into The River of Reflection. The scenery is amazing. It’s like wet wood in the fireplace blazing, then blowing the ember of their encounters and rekindling a new fragrance to their flame. It’s like hot cocoa and communication. Mr. and Mrs. Poem’s characters get developed like negatives to bring out the positive values in their adulterous affair of bliss. Written in a poetic form that reads like dialog as Mr. and Mrs. Poem make confessions (before a sea of anticipating audience members) about the circumstances that brought them together, apart and back to back to face forever. Spoken Love goes back and forth between past and present, dealing with the dynamics of being single, divorced and separated, in and out of poetry and fictional dimensions, solidifying the written intention of blurring the line between poetry, novel, stage, screen play, reality and personal connection and making the hard times for Mr. and Mrs. Poem, as well as you and yours hard to remember. Spoken Love was written for couples to feel forever as they read together, as they gradually realize that every moment in love is a treasure. Spoken Love is a novel song, a fictional poem without an ending, an eternal endeavor. Spoken Love is the blue ocean of novels, the Cirque du Soleil of poetry. Poetry books don’t compel you to read chapter after chapter; Spoken Love does. Contemporary novels attempt to be poetic, but fall short. About the Author
In addition to being an author, Derrick Dzine is an artist/playwright who brings lyrics about the urban experience to life with a unique style called Spoken Art and Palletry. Dzine has a very strong following of fine art collectors, as his creations have been available through numerous venues such as his websites, www.gallerybydzine.com , art galleries, art shows and plays. Not only will Spoken Love be an outstanding book, it is currently in production and will be his latest lithograph and play that will be marketed throughout the 21st century.
His goals for the future are to continue to create with intuition, skill, integrity and envelope-pushing originality. It is His passionate goal to be an honorable creative (Conduit of my culture) to bring forth the inner visions/thoughts of like-minded thinkers, to get and give back to those who love art on their walls, books and minds and to bring art education to the youth who have been separated from their innate abilities. His joy through Palletry is to see extremely talented people do what they were born to do. Dzine says, “When I was a child I would stare at the clouds with my mother and wonder. She would explain the meaning to all of my questions (the ones with answers) and dwell with me for the answers to the rest. She told me if I listened and looked around me, God would answer all of my questions through examples.
Well, my paintings and writings are conceived with a goal to render those inquisitive contemplations with a youthful enthusiasm, thus creating understanding with God’s inspirations: the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful aspects of life realistically with a fantasy influence.”
