Of Poets and Angels...

RHAPSODY

...I gathered thorns and thistles where once

there was gold,

and exchanged the innocence of youth

for the wisdom of the old;

I cried to my Lord, "Oh, why...

 did'st Thou leave me

here in a city barren and cold?

Where is the springtime of the fields

rich with buttercups of gold?"

Then in silence my Lord answered  me,

"My child, do you not know the story of the Sea?

The tides come and the tides go,

for ages past it Has been so;

the mighty pull and changeless flow

is governed soley by Me...

And so it is with thee...

Your life is as precious

and as necessary as the sand to the sea;

though cruel and relentless it seemingly be,

there is a purpose and a plan for thee."

For a moment, I felt like that grain of sand,

battered but proud to be a part of the universal plan;

and though there remain questions unanswered,

and answers that cannot be questioned,

the call of the sea is within me still,

and it matters not, the pain and hurt

caused by the tumultuous sea,

for in my heart...I know and I hear...

A Rhapsody...
