Two cardinals chattering loudly woke Gwinn. She yawned and stretched but tensed, but then she remembered where she was. She rolled over lethargically to wake Kaia, and froze in surprise. A big lump of black fur was lying on the other side of her sister. Kaia was facing Gwinn, snoring lightly.
“Kaia?” Gwinn whispered urgently, poking her sister. She grumbled and opened her eyes.
“What?” Kaia demanded quietly.
“Turn over,” Gwinn squeaked. Kaia cast her a wary glance and rolled over.
And she came face to face with a wolf.

About the Book
Kaia and Gwinn, unknowingly head out for the adventure of their lifetime. They get lost in the dark forest, avoid creatures who try to charm them to their death, and fight the most evil being on Earth. Or is he? And then, in the midst of things, Gwinn is taken. Who will save her? Who are their friends? Who are their foes? Can they trust the ones they love, or are they leading them to heartbreak and misery? Is this all just a gory, beautiful, LoveHate quest?
About the Author
Emily Smith was born a writer. She has been writing poems and short stories ever since she was a young child. She would constantly be talking about something that interested her deeply, then she would write it down and share it with everyone she knew. She writes mostly about fantasy, nature, and romance, which is very important to her. The reason she writes, though, is not for herself. She writes so others can enjoy her stories, and create dreams of their own. To let them escape for a moment, out of the boring world, and stay awhile in a magical place. And, with her words, to try and make a difference in the world. Even if it is just a little difference.
