About the Author

I was a Locum Consultant in a UK Hospital. A middle grade Indian colleague was on call. He saw a severe attack of Asthma in a chronic Asthmatic. He gave him a shoddy treatment and sent him home while it was mandatory that such patient should be admitted for treatment. He gave him very perfunctory treatment. The patient collapsed and was returned to the same Doctor.  The Doctor panicked but yet failed to call me as the Consultant covering him. He had done nothing for the patient before discharging him home to return unconscious. He and a middle grade Anaesthetist I was told started to argue if  the patient had Pneumothorax.   The Doctor failed to offer the patient proper treatment in his first visit. They inserted a large needle into his chest and the Anaesthetist continued venting the patient without any accompanying chest drain after the chest puncture. They caused a fatal iatrogenic tension Pneumothorax and killed the patient.

On finding out this, I brought it to the attention of the Hospital  authorities. They asked me to keep quiet in the interest of Risk management and damage limitation.  I was shock to hear this. I chose to leave. The Hospital then teamed up with the Indian Doctors working under me to neutralise me by slander. I have terminal cancer;  no reward  fightng back. General Medical Council is often compromised to side with them. Who protects  patients from ignorant cowboy Doctors when Hospitals fights to protect their reputation?  I often  have to tell the Doctors what I suspect I have in this illness.   I ask for investigations to confirm it. Many Doctors in the NHS are excellent. They help me to manage my condition. A few Doctors are bad.  It  is difficult to ignore blattant carelessness killing a patient.
