the other night, i dreamt of wide blue skies
and rolling hills dancing with wildflowers
when the storm came
i thought of you, your energy
the first bolt of lightning knocked me
off my feet and as i fell
the dark clouds rolled over me,
cushioning my fall
enveloped by the swirling energy
chaotic, powerful
i thought it would wholly overwhelm me
until the first ray of light filtered through
warming my skin
i was free to stand on my feet again
and was startled to realize
i already was –
