About the Book

Written in the present tense, similar to the front pages of our daily newspapers, Revolution is a 175 page chronicle of a remarkable contest fought between the largest, most powerful professional army on earth and a motley collection of men and boys, extremely ill equipped and inexperienced in the arts of warfare.

Thirty three narratives describe the battles, while over half the remaining articles reveal how the radical revolutionaries, revered today as our founding fathers, sometimes barely succeed and more often miserably fail to keep a healthy Continental Army and a somewhat pusillanimous Continental Congress together.

Revolution is also the story of a civil conflict fought in a divided country where the words “liberty” and “independence” are equally cheered, cursed and ignored. News coverage about states rights, slavery, the national dept, taxes, and women’s rights, together with “conversations” with the major and minor players make up the rest of Revolution’s pages.

About the Author

Ken is a self taught student of our revolutionary period. His abiding interest in our war for independence began after he was introduced to the revolutionary pamphleteer Thomas Paine in a class at San Diego State University, where Ken obtained a teaching minor in American History.

After working in the title insurance industry for twenty five years, Ken and his wife, Karen migrated from Santa Monica, California to Phoenix, Arizona where he took early retirement and began a five year research and writing journey,( be calls it a” romp’) through our revolutionary war.

Ken is presently involved in photography. Samples of his work can found be in this book. He is also taking “a slow, gut wrenching, trot” through our civil war, with the intent of writing a similar history of that era.
