From Gods Arms to My Arms to Yours

Everything was set up in advance for Patty to have a private room on a separate floor from maternity in order to preempt any conversations about the future life of the little girl. The hospital staff was all aware of our decision and papers had been signed with John several weeks before. Everything conceivable had been worked out by the Doctor and John so this could be as emotionally painless for Patty as possible. Every visit with the Doctor also included a conversation regarding our decision to continue with this adoption. This care free life did not last long nor did it come to a soft subtle stop, in order to keep feeling good about himself Dave had to keep doing things bigger and better than the previous day. At long last Marti & Dale are finally married and begin their life together. They spent their honeymoon in San Diego with great hope for the future. Having children was always in the plan. Several months later when Marti was still not pregnant, they sought medical advice and learned that it was very unlikely that Dale could father a child and equally unlikely that Marti could bear one. Dave wanted to find me for peace of mind. He had to give me over to perfect strangers and did not know how my life would turn out. Much like when I watched Veronica go to perfect strangers. At least I got to meet her parents. Dave never got to meet mine to see if they were psycho or not. They were, still are. But not a bad psycho like he was worried about.
