There are only a few things that could get me out of a warm bed in the dead of winter, especially when I know it was snowing when I went to bed the night before. This happened to be one of them. Rachel needed my help and I wouldn’t let her down. The snow had stopped after leaving an inch of the white fluffy stuff on the ground and the cold quickly penetrated my thin leather shoes as I walked. My car was around the corner behind the convenience store. It was safe from vandals. It worked out very well. I had done some work for the manager and in payment we agreed I would keep my car there. It was a good barter deal.

About the Book
Harry Rider, private detective, is just trying to get by. He has regular clients for background checks, the occasional missing person or find a long lost relative, but nothing like this. He is thrust into a world he had only heard about. One that could get him killed.
About the Author
I have always liked to write things. Mostly just stuff scattered around in different files. I run across them once in a while. This book is one of them. When I was 59 in 2002 I was down-sized. It is hard to get work at that age no matter what you can do. Now I work two part time jobs and collect SS and try to write more. My wife and I live in sunny Florida, near Daytona Beach, in the same house for 24 years.
