Beauty Within
Brainwashed to believe beauty is what we physically see
It is what lies concealed within that makes you a beautiful person
Falsified images composed of make-up and fancy clothes hides the true you
Sometimes hidden so well you even fool yourself
Handicapped by sight and unable to grasp hold of what is not tangible
Fooled by the mirror from deceitful eyes
Reflections misleading with little effort
Unbeknownst to the eyes in search of something they will never see
Deep in the flesh, within the soul, and inside the heart
Which is the person beneath
Desiring to see beauty in a world absent of sight
Faceless, naked and unseen beauty is my quest to see

About the Author
The author is a poet, writer, and spoken word artist affectionately known as "Soft Spoken". She has been writing poems and short stories since childhood. This will be her first published book of poems.
