Ghetto Love Yourself gives insight into the mind of a young girl looking for love. She is trying to find love from her parents but, to her dismay, they are too caught up in their struggles to provide money for bills and their vices. Her father is a rolling stone working and spending on cars and women. Her mother depressed from this turns to alcohol, becomes bitter and abusive towards her and her sister. So she turns to the love of boys in the ghetto only to find this is a vicious cycle. So in the end, she learns she has to ghetto love herself.

Ghetto Love Yourself is about growing up in the ghetto during the 70’s and 80’s, a time when families suffered financially, emotionally and physically. Many used alcohol to cope with despair and poverty, but we turned to our music to feel love.
