Walter gazed across the wide auditorium and marveled at the sight of pretty ladies. It had been a long time since the soldier had seen women wearing fancy dresses and high heels. His blue-gray eyes focused on the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life. It was love at first sight!
The master of ceremonies glanced at the lines of anxious servicemen and smiling women. He blew the official U.S.O. whistle and then quickly got off the shiny dance floor. The handsome soldiers began to walk across the auditorium and ask the available girls to dance. Walter panicked as he noticed another soldier walking towards the girl in the delicate blue dress.

About the Book
What could a young soldier from the Pennsylvania mountains have in common with a pretty girl from St. Louis? True love, of course! Walter was a handsome man serving his country during WWII. His military orders sent him to basic training in a huge city far from home.
About the Author
Nancy L. Bull is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a degree in Special Education. She received her Masters Degree from Troy State University at Montgomery. She taught children with special needs for 25 years in the Montgomery Public Schools. Since her retirement in 2003, she has enjoyed spending more time with her family, especially her three grandchildren. She is the legal guardian and caregiver for her sister Charlotte. Her special sister is 12 years older than she and has autism. Nancy lives in Montgomery, Alabama, with her husband David and her sister Charlotte.
Andrew Lindberg began drawing when he was too young to read this book and went on to obtain undergraduate and Master's degrees in Art Education at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. He teaches elementary art in Jonestown, Pennylvania, and operates WalkOnWatercolors, a Biblical painting business and ministry, on the side. He lives in Manheim, Pennsylvania, with his wife and three children.
