Mum put the cat carrier on the kitchen table and everyone crowded round to watch the moment they had all been waiting for.
Grandma admired the beautifully decorated carrier and then she very slowly and carefully undid the big red bow. She opened the top of the carrier even more slowly and Grandma peered inside it. She saw two beautiful scared eyes looking up at her.
George and Tilly couldn't wait to find out if Grandma liked Roly. Grandma whispered '' Hello Roly'' and she looked at mum, George and Tilly with a big smile '' What a clever idea for a present. He's lovely. Thank you very much.''
Grandma had a smart new cat basket for Roly and cat food and new cat bowls. Tilly put fresh water in one and George put a medium scoop of food in the other bowl.
Mum said '' Roly is a very lucky cat. Grandma will care for him so well. He will be happy here with more room and a garden to explore.''

About the Author
Yvonne Kendrick was born in Suffolk where she spent her early childhood. From the age of six she knew she wanted to become an early years teacher. When she qualified, she worked across the county of Norfolk working in all types of schools but always within the five to nine age range. Following retirement she decided to write a children’s book.
