If Your Feet Are Tired And Weary

One day in primary school just after our lunch a bunch of us (10) from the same class, all guy’s, all derred each other to dog it in the afternoon, not to go back after the dinner-school, I know how daft it seems, all from the same class, but that’s the kind of mad things you did when you are that age, so two of the guy’s bottles crashed and the rest (8) of us went for it. We decided to go across from the school in the wee swing park, it had concrete pipes, it was in the winter, frozen, rainy, windy, what a bad day to choose to plunk school, we were all huddled up in the pipes,  the school bell had been and gone, should we go back in? One of the guy’s would suggest, no chance, if anybody goes back, you’ll have to run the gauntlet tomorrow, suggested by a good fighter, no one argued with his suggestion, ok we agreed, so we were telling jokes and laughing away, I remember one of the guy’s really shit himself, he was worried and bursting for the bog, he drapped his ring a few times, then the sound changed and we all new what he had done, he was guffing, we made him go into his own pipe. We had to stay there until the home bell went, then go for the bus as normal. We all lasted and felt good for dogging it and seeing it through, how cool are we or what? Onto the bus, speaking to the lassies in our class, I asked “what did the teacher say about all of us missing? “Nothing, she just done the register and said nothing”, we thought we were cool, the lassies were saying stuff like “your all mental so ye are”

Fish said “we know, we’re gonny dae it again, it’s easy and a good laugh”.
