It is believed that marriage is a sanctified institution between a man and a woman, which is vital to the stability and preservation of any society. God has ordained marriage to be the foundation of the family while the family is the basic building block of society. It is a social institution of great public concern. This is evidenced in what social science research and government surveys increasingly show: that the decline in marriage has been accompanied by a rise in a number of serious social problems. It is believed that God is the creator of marriage and He established this institution when He created all things, including man – Adam. Everything God created He saw them as good until the Bible recorded God saying in
you in particular so love his wife even as himself: and the wife see that she reverence her husband."
All in all, the home is the basic unit of society and is ordained of God through marriage. At the same token, Jesus established in the book of

nd others, which is proven and manifested by obedience to the Word of God which requires loyalty to God. The more the couple is matured in the Word of God, the more it is easier to understand their role in marriage building.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 gives a number of characteristics associated with true Christian love. It states, "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not
rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Accordingly, love never fails. This passage begins by stating, "Love suffers long" – meaning to persevere patiently and bravely; to be patient in bearing the offences and injuries of others; to be mild and slow in avenging; to be long-suffering, slow to anger, slow to punish.
Equally, love is kind - to show gentleness, the book of 1 Peter 2:12 states, “having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.” Similarly, love does not envy – meaning to burn with zeal. Envy is the sign of the presence of the devil. In an ordained marriage, the couple rejoice over each others’ achievements. The man is not to envy his wife if she is doing better than him instead he should help her to do better.
Again, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up – parade meaning to boast oneself and the word puffed up means to cause to swell up; to make proud. These describe one who is arrogant and self-centred. This is the one who thinks of himself first. He continually brags about what he has accomplished. He thinks he is better than everyone else. Paul wrote, "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself." (Philippians 2:3).
Formats Book Details The institution called Marriage is a three cord relationship. First with the man, the woman and God who destined marriage from the beginning. The reason why most marriages failed today was because it had only been narrowed to a two cord relationship, which is between the man and the woman. God who introduced the institution from the beginning through Adam and Eve had been pushed out of most marriage, and hence the problem we see today in marriages. Before a man or woman entered into an agreement of marriage, they must pray for guidance and not to enter it frivolously. Love at first sight without divine guidance is what had wretched most marriages today. God is Love, wherever you find Him you find Love. Whenever a man or woman says they don’t love each other anymore, it is a sign of God’s absence in such home. Not until the man and woman bring back God into marriage, the rate of divorce will continue to sour higher. The characteristic of God is what marriages need to survive. One of this characteristic is that God is merciful. If the man and woman can show mercy in most cases to one another, the word divorce will be phased out. For every mistake each made, the other will be willing to forgive, hence peace will reign which is another characteristics of God. This book dealt with some crucial topics like what an ordained marriage should look like. It also buttressed the danger of an Un-ordained Marriage. It gives hope to every foundation that was not laid properly by suggesting the way out. It also discussed God’s role in marriage and His contribution to it. The man and the woman role are also explained, and the final part of this book answered some questions that we might like to ask on marital issues. My name is Olufunmilola Kuforiji. The title of my book is “AN ORDAINED MARRIAGE”. I see marriages breaking and problems engulfing in most existing marriages, hence the urge to write a book on marriage. I am an Economics graduate and I teach in various departments of the Church. My Sunday school students would not miss classes because of the knowledge of the word of God they received in my teachings. They have been able to live an improved Christian life based on the word they heard me teach. Also, students in my Believers classes (that is those who have just giving their life to Jesus) have testified to their relatives and friends about their intimate fellowship with God now as a result of how I guided them in the study. I have been ordained a teacher and this really helped me a lot in the writing of my book. I got inspiration of teaching and writing by surrendering to the power of the Holy Spirit who is the greatest teacher. As He guided me in this book, so have I put them together.
