Without warning, a strong grasp grabbed hold of Norib's white collar and brought him around a secluded corner hut. At first Norib thought that it might be Elik Nos and prepared himself for the confrontation. As he studied the person's face he realized that it was in fact not Elik but the strange old Alginian from the North that he had met earlier that day.
The casual unnerved appearance that Jin Selkin had shown earlier was now replaced with a frantic worried look, "We must flee with haste young lad."
Norib released himself from Selkin's grasp, "What are you going on about Northerner? It's not very neighborly slinging me about like you just did."
"I do apologize Norib," Selkin began, "but it is important that you come with me immediately."
Norib shook his head, "I'm afraid that's not possible at the moment. I am just about to venture down the walk of proposal with the most magnificent lady in all of Alginia."
"I'm sorry lad, but if you don't come with me now there may not be an Alginia left by the end of the week."
Norib stared at him questioningly, "What do you mean, sir?"
Selkin took a deep breath and for the first time since he grabbed Norib he sounded calm, "I mean that the enemy is drawing near and if you are captured...all hope is lost."
Norib laughed, "Why you crazy Northerner, you're intoxicated aren't you?"
Selkin grabbed Norib's shoulder, "No I am not intoxicated, I speak the truth. My arrival here this day was not by chance. I was sent specifically to this location."
"By whom," Norib skeptically asked.
Selkin studied him for a brief instance and then answered, "The Narciox."
Norib started to ask who or what the Narciox was but he was interrupted by the most earsplitting explosive boom he had heard in all of his twenty years of existence. He turned in the direction of the noise and saw about a hundred yards off a huge gray energy ball sore into the air. Once it crashed to the ground the entire inhabitance quaked and a large gray energy wave erupted, knocking several Alginians in all directions and disintegrated the majority of them into non existence.
Jin Selkin unsheathed his sword and yelled over the loud chaos, "Let's go!"

About the Book
For two millenia the Alginian people have lived in peace and prosperity. Their means of survival was not at all complex and at the beginning of each new year they celebrated the peace that encompassed their land. But at the two thousandth year of peace celebration all that they knew and took for granted was about to change. The vile and monstrous race known as the Ermakoss invade their planet and wreck unimaginable havoc on their once peaceful world. At the epicenter of all this chaos stands one solitary Alginian: Norib Nam. It is unknown as to what is so important about this particular Alginian, but is he chosen to be the one and only hope for their planet's survival?
Thus begins the epic journey that will see these loving and peaceful characters endure hard times and face many obstacles along the way as they start the precarious journey that will hopefully emancipate their fallen comrades and rid their home of the technologically advanced Ermakoss.
About the Author
Byron Mann lives in a little town in Florida with his family and five year old little miniature pincher, Pebbles. He has always aspired at being an author and The Alginian Quest marks his very first published work after having graduated High School in 2007. His goals for the future are to balance his career as a Correctional Officer while also continuing to write books in his spare time.
