Parables from Twilight

Twilight page 308, Bella then Edward: “So where did it all start?  I mean, Carlisle changed you, and then someone must have changed him, and so on…”

“Well where did you come from?  Evolution? Creation?  Couldn’t we have evolved in the same way as other species, predator and prey?  Or, if you don’t believe that all this world could have just happened on its own, which is hard for me to accept myself, is it so hard to believe that the same force that created the delicate angelfish with the shark, the baby seal and the killer whale, could create both our kinds together?”

·         - After reading the four books what do you think Bella believed about God?

·         - What do you think Edward believed?

·         - Carlisle?

Edward’s argument in Twilight is pretty similar to something Paul says in the Bible.

Romans 1:20:  For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

·         -When you are in the middle of nature, what are some of the things you see that make you know there is a God?

·        - How about science—what evidence found in science points to an intelligent Creator?

Colossians 1:16-17: “For by him all things were created:  things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all thing were created by him and for him.  He before all things, and in him all things hold together.

-Can you draw any comparison to Jesus being the center that holds things together such as our solar system and the sun?

-What other things in creation point to a "center"?
