"Where is this country you're going to?" Rosie asked.
"Nicaragua." Ian replied.
"Nicaragua! Nicaragua! You're going to Nicaragua to look for dead Indians?" Sam suddenly asked in a loud voice.

"Is this where you sign up to work on the trip?"
The three turned to find the source of the question. Their eyes settled on a clean, skinny, undernourished youth; The youth appeared to be a boy of undeterminable age, but definately not yet in his teens.
He was wearing a tattered shirt, sandles, and pants several sizes too large. Paul noticed his small stature and black curly hair which had not been cut and nestled just above his the collar of his shirt. The most noticable feature however, were dark, almost mysterious brown eyes. The curious eyes, almost black in color, seemed to penetrate deep into the body and tug at the very emotions of their hearts.
"My friends at the Missionary School called me Charlie" Came the slow response, as if the answer needed to be carefully thought out.
"They gave me this when I left the School." Charlie said, raising a silver chain from around his neck. At the end of the chain was a small silver Crucifix which he displayed proudly, "See!"

About the Book
Time passes as quickly as a shooting star across the morning sky. The trail left quickly evaporates until all that is left is the memory. Then all too soon the memory vanishes as well, lost somewhere in the depths of time. Nothing is left but a void. The cycle is complete.

Ian and Sam test their strength and skills on an Archeological Expedition into the Rain Forests of Nicaragua with Ian's college friend, Paul. Paul believes an illusiveMayan Temple may be hidden away deep in the unexplored forest, waiting to be discovered.
During the long weeks, Ian, Sam, and Paul encounter greed, hate, mystery and superstition. The expedition encounters a catastrophe that may have been the curse of an ancient power, or a young Mayan Priestess; or could it have been simply destined to happen. No one knows for sure; you must form your own opinion.

About the Author
The Author, Don Courtney lives with his wife Betty and their cat, Kat in Indianapolis,Indiana. This is the second book of a trilogy, and the third book Don has published.
The idea for this book was conceived during a trip to Nicaragua in 1996 with the Ambassdair Travel Club which was the first organized tour group to visit the country.
All the characters in this story are fictitious, a product of the Author's mind, as is the plot. In no way should this story reflect on the Nicaraguan people who are friendly and outgoing.
