About the Book

The village of Tibworth lies on Manchester’s most northerly border, and just outside the village is Woods Farm. This is where 10 year old Albert Wood lives with his mother, father and sister Gail in the year 1953.

Albert experiences a recurring dream. It isn't like the others, because this particular dream is the same over and over again.

A scary encounter with an old hermit who tells Albert he has the 'gift', only adds to his predicament: is the dream real or not?

Yet amongst his family’s arduous farming life, a sprawling mystery develops. An enigma only Albert can solve.

About the Author

As a young lad of the late 1950s, John Wise was raised amongst the tall chimneys of Manchester. Those years were an era where work was everything and everyone worked; folk left their doors ajar without the fear of unwanted intruders and men-folk doffed their hats to ladies in the street. It was also a time when John Wise studied music and literature. A basic education meant that John would have to work harder than most to attain his ambitions.

Having been taught from the age of 7 years, he played the cornet/trumpet for almost 40 years and wrote, conducted and directed music in the UK and abroad. After an illness some 15 years ago, the playing had to stop.

Although he still writes music, John devotes most of his time to literature. Finding success writing articles for local newspapers and magazines prompted John into writing a fiction novel.

Sweet Dreams, he says, took 10 years to complete, and of all the books he’s written since, Sweet Dreams is still his favourite.
