About the Book

Things Happen When Two Agree is a story about how my husband and I managed to live and be there for each other.

When I was down, he was a caretaker for me. He took care of me after I had my hip replacement and when I went through an almost near death situation. I came very close to dying. My family thought that every day would be my last day. James held on in faith with me believing that God would restore my health as He had promised me. God continued to tell me to just trust Him and I did. I got down to 120 pounds from 200 pounds, but God is faithful. 2 Timothy 2:12, 13 tell us, “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: If we deny Him, He will also deny us: If we are faithful, if we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.”

James met with a serious accident and I became his caretaker in May of 2002. He was not bedridden, but he needed a lot of care. The Lord had raised me up on my feet and I was strong enough to take care of him.

When we took our marriage vows 57 years ago, we planned to stick by them. We promised to love each other in sickness and in health until death separated us.

This is what has kept us together through the hard times and the good times; we vowed to love and stay together to the end.
