Someone wrote “The Christian faith is like taking a step in the dark”. He missed out one word "trusting" before step. What is faith? Faith is putting into practice ones beliefs, but one cannot have beliefs without knowledge. So we must know something before we can believe it and if we believe it and put it into action then that is faith. We are or can be reflectors of God in our lives and we are like candles in the dark. Ought our waking prayers be, “Let my candle of faith burn brightly today?”

About the Book
When my 16 year-old grand daughter asked me what I was writing about and I replied, “Why is God in the dark?” she gave a little gasp of surprise. After thinking a little she said “But isn't God concealed with the light and good men and the devil with the dark and evil?” When I said that is precisely why I am writing this little book to encourage people to think along different lines and get new perspectives on their beliefs and faith. Think of all the great and important events in the life of Jesus and when did they occur? “Oh!” She said, “I see your point”.
This book discusses how God used darkness to good effect through the introduction of His incarnate son to the world, through baptism, transfiguration, crucifixion, resurrection and Ascension.
About the Author
In an active ministry of 47 years in parishes, schools, hospitals and industry, I noticed questions being repeatedly asked. Where can I find God in my darkest hour? How can there be a God? In an attempt to answer these questions it is worth considering two things:-
Chinese proverb: All the darkness in the whole world cannot put out the light of one candle.
Scientific fact: The human eye is able to see the light of one candle at 14 miles in ideal conditions.
This study attemps to demonstrate that although darkness is associated with evil powers, God can use darkness as well as light to suit His purpose.
