Prologue
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, about 800,000,000 light years, ago there was a lovely planet called Xylar. It contains three clans: the Religious; the Technocrats; and finally the Magis. Xylar never knew war amongst themselves; just a few skirmishes. On that fatal day, Mandrake, the Ancient, came out of his cave, which was located on the southern side of Mount Kreniar. He was wearing a multicoloured robe with a black cowl covering his head.
He looked down, his eyes squinting, against the glare of the seven suns that surrounded the planet. When he found what he was seeking, he walked over a few yards. There was a big oval-shaped stone, onto which he stepped. One moment he was there, the next, he appeared at the foot of Mount Kreniar.
‘Great things those teleport stones, they would rescue me from toppling over!’ He thought to himself.
He chuckled for a while, then thought of it better. He took the Road of the Palace. At his sight, people oohed and ahed, some even thought that something was afoot! The Ancient kept on moving, impervious to their reactions, his mind was made up, he would meet the Council and they would listen this time.
The Palace came into view. It was like a Castle, made of pink marble with edgings of gold and silver, with four turrets surrounding the Domed Council room. The Castle was surrounded by gardens and orchards. Every imaginable fruits and vegetables grew there under the careful supervision of Xylarians dressed in white; they were the caretakers of the Palatial Gardens.
Notwithstanding, Mandrake continued his trek. He was slowly getting tired, so he reverted to magic use about half-way through. With a flick of his right wrist, he mumbled some spells he had devised, and automatically he began levitating. That seemed to fuel the tongues of the gawkers. He still paid no mind to the latter, small people always gawk at whatever they never understood!
He could see the Ramparts, Mandrake was nearing his goal:
Formats Book Details This is the unpretentious story of two young people falling in love with each other which is setup in a fantastical world where magic and technology live coexist. This book is the completion of 15 years of thinking, scheming, of narrating,and finally writing down. It was used as a channelling tool against the depression I went through.
