The Streetfighter Journals

I crashed into the ground, the impact knocking the air out of me. I was submerged in the puddle and water filled my nose and mouth. Coughing frantically, I began to panic, feeling as if I was drowning, but I quickly told myself to calm down. There was no danger. I had to get back up.

With my hands flat on the pavement, I pushed off the ground and rose to my feet uneasily.

In a flash, Haber bashed me in the skull and I fell back under, just as disoriented as before.

Water clouded my vision and I cried out when he kicked me down under. My stomach was searing with pain as the kicks kept finding their mark. It felt as though my insides were ripping apart and I was bleeding internally. Liquid was everywhere, soaking every inch of my body. In the dark, how could I tell what was blood or not?

Fighting the struggle, I lifted my head out of the pool and caught a glimpse of Haber before the water enveloped me again. Now, I knew where he was.

Using both legs, I lashed out of the water and grasped his ankle with my feet. I twisted his leg, causing him to lose balance, and he fell over right next to my body. There was a giant splash as he went under.

I took the chance to rise to my feet and turned on him in seconds. My stomach still felt like my guts had a torn hole in between them and it built on my anger.

I kicked him around, furiously, as he lay helpless in the puddle. His painful groans profited to my satisfaction. But it still wasn’t enough for me.

I knelt down on one knee and punched him in the face. He cried out and his head bobbed under water. When his face came back up, I did it again. He sputtered blood and the water tinted pink.
