About the Book

The Masquerade: What Mask Are You Wearing? “The Unmasking of a Queen” is a guide to aid women toward emotional and spiritual wholeness. A study guide created to help one in making peace with her past and move beyond brokenness, the book tells how the author overcame by taking responsibility for her own emotional and spiritual health. It’s about wanting to grow spiritually and rising above unresolved emotional issues. It’s about developing emotional maturity. It is about how the author handled her emotions including her anger, un-forgiveness, rejection, bitterness, and resentment. How she learned to stop hitting the replay button to past hurts. Why she was compelled to tell her story. The book was written to help you to escape the ties that bind you.

About the Author

Mary is the author of her first book, The Masquerade: What Mask Are You Wearing? “The Unmasking of a Queen.” Driven by a dream to step out of the boat, Mary Elizabeth Kendrick established Heart to Heart Women in Crisis Center in 2007. Heart to Heart Women in Crisis Center is a faith-based organization committed to enriching and empowering women who have been victims of spiritual, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse.

As a survivor of abuse herself, she knows how incapacitating abuse can be. Through a strong faith in God she continues to move beyond the obscurity, hopelessness, and misery of her pain into a place of power, peace, and service. Mary’s mission is to empower and equip women to move away from the victimization of their past pain, develop a clear vision, and begin to walk in their purpose. Mary conscientiously works to fulfill the Heart to Heart Women in Crisis Center’s goals through education, advocacy, and sisterhood of support.

Her passion for helping  hurting women in the community has prompted her to become a volunteer educator  holding workshops to motivate and educate women.

Mary has a servant’s heart.  Her goal is to spend the rest of her life building a bridge of support to those who lack the necessary resources  needed to have a more fulfilling life. Mary strongly believes that healed people can help heal others. Her prayer is that everyone will eventually be restored from the negative dysfunctions of abuse such as low self-esteem, poor self-image,  unfulfilled goals and dreams.

Mary declares, “Now is the time for us to awake from our sleep, and seek for our God-given vision, and attentively live out our God-ordained destiny, because someone’s life is depending on it, including our own.” She has the fragrance of humor, friendship, teaching, and sisterhood.
