....As I walked pass my mother's bedroom, I knew better than to pass without saying goodnight. I mumbled goodnight but got no reply from her. I did see her pull her glasses down on her nose. The next morning when I got ready to leave for my job at Sears on the West Side of Chicago, Momma told me, "I saw how red your eyes were last night so I know you was down to your sister's house drinking; I'll talk to her about that later. What I want to tell you is that when you went into your bedroom last night, a lady went right in there behind you." Needless to say, I slept on the couch for a week.

About the Book
I have always said, "What you are seeking, is also seeking you!" These are some things I have seen and experienced over the first 50 years of my life. My Dad got to be 91 years of age, I would like to get to one hundred and still be healthy. It is hard to deny something when you see it with your own eyes or feel it when it touches you.
About the Author
I was born in 1955 in Bessemer, Alabama. My early childhood was pleasant because I remember Momma fixing Dad food when he came in for lunch from working in the Mines in th early morning hours. Momma and Daddy both told me I could only had been two or three years old and they don't see how I recall those days. A lot of people talk about the Civil Rights Movement but we lived through it in Bessemer. We were raised Santified and Momma taught us to sing and we were "The Heavenly Gospel Singers". This is how Momma kept us together after Daddy left us. I always say it was my early years in the South along with strong Prayers from family and friends, that kept me alive when we moved to Chicago. I believe I am not a bad person. However, I do get on people nerves because I tell the truth....Willie Earl Means
